Getting the Height Right

A balloon needs altitude and empty wall beneath it, or the basket looks like it is resting on something. Place the largest in the upper half of the wall with clear space below, then stagger the smaller ones higher and further apart so they read as distant. Clouds go behind and below rather than around β€” a balloon clearing the cloud line is the image everyone actually pictures.

Hot Air Balloon Wall Decals

The Dreamy Balloon Adventure is a hand-painted hot air balloon wall decal in blush, sage and lilac, drifting among soft clouds. If you want animals aboard, the balloon designs elsewhere in the range carry them: Animals in Hot Air Balloon gives you four balloons, and Australian Balloon Animal puts a koala and a roo in the basket.

Balloons Belong High

A hot air balloon wall sticker needs altitude and empty wall beneath it - hang it low and the basket looks like it is resting on the dresser. Put balloons in the upper third of the wall, the part most decal schemes leave bare, with clouds placed behind and below to give the impression of height. A balloon rising toward a corner reads better than one sitting square in the middle.

Removable Fabric Balloon Decals for Nurseries

Peel and stick woven fabric rather than vinyl - matte, non-reflective, wipe-clean, and removable, repositionable and reusable without residue, which is worth having when the piece is going up near the ceiling and you only want to place it once. Clean, dry, cured walls only; allow fresh paint two weeks.
